Higney Road and Tinus Avenue streetlights

by admin on 22 March, 2013

On Wednesday 13th March I reported 4 streetlights out on Higney Road via fixmystreet.com.

The council replied by email to say that they were passing it on to the developers, Barratt, to repair as the street has not yet been adopted by the council. When the very helpful engineer from Barratt asked me to confirm which lights they were, I was able to report two further lights out on Higney Road, one which had subsequently failed and the one down the footpath to Sharnbrook Avenue which is also part of the Higney Road development, and an additional light out on Tinus Avenue.

Four of these have already been fixed. The other three, the two at the end of Higney Road by Westlake Avenue and the one at the end of Tinus Avenue by Vale Drive, require addition work from the electric company before the lights can be repaired and this has been ordered by Barratt.

In addition, I enquired as to when the two streets are likely to be adopted by the council. Barratt said they are currently in the process of getting the sewers adopted, which has to be done before the highways can be adopted.

If you know of any further problems in these streets, do let me know and I will report this directly to Barratt.
