The Liberal Democrats are building a stronger economy in a fairer society, enabling every person to get on in life. That’s why Liberal Democrats in government have helped create more than 1 million private sector jobs, and why we’re now working to create a million more.

In Peterborough, the Liberal Democrats in government have provided funding to help support local job creation.

Schemes supported by Liberal Democrats in include:

– £4.5m towards A1(M) and A1139 Fletton Parkway improvement scheme to help create 4150 jobs and build 5350 new homes
– £767k towards A1/A47 Wansford junction improvement works
– a national £4.2bn rail upgrade has helped to fund improvement works at Peterborough station and capacity relief between Fletton and Huntingdon
– £6.86m to Peterborough City Council to create 2263 new homes in Peterborough, either new build or bringing empty homes back into use, boosting the local construction industry
– £1.47m towards the Southbank regeneration project to boost jobs and growth
– a grant given to Perkins Engines for an Engineering Innovation project
